MC Consultants is seeking an experienced General Contractor and Cost Estimator. The Candidate will have experience with RS Means, Xactimate, and developing estimates from written repair scopes and quantity take-offs.
The ideal candidate has previously served in a forensic consulting role. The candidate’s experience should include site investigations, attorney/client meetings, expert meetings and meditations, and preferably, depositions and trials. A deep Cost Estimating background is required.

Candidates will have experience in the mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) design of major projects with a thorough knowledge of industry standard design practices and codes. Specifically, has experience designing systems connecting to building systems such as condenser water, chilled water, hot water, steam and is able to perform existing system analysis, due diligence of existing systems, conceptualize the design and develop system options, perform field surveys for the design of HVAC systems, perform air cooled and water cooled unit selection and layout, perform ductwork and piping design and perform life cycle cost analysis. In addition, candidates will have in-depth experience in the design and production of construction documents for waste/vent, water and gas piping systems, as well as the design of plumbing plans for domestic water, sanitary and waste vent systems. Appropriate candidates will have experience in advanced structural analysis and the ability to develop detailed construction documents. Candidates should demonstrate creative thinking in resolving complex structural design problems as well as good communication skills and have a team oriented attitude.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering analysis, steel, concrete, masonry and timber design, building code requirements, and seismic design. Highrise experience desired.
- Experience in the preparation of structural calculations, structural detailing, supporting the construction administration phase of the project, and preparing engineering reports.
- Experience with DSA and OSHPD encouraged.
- Experience with standard structural analysis programs (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, RISA) required.

As a Paralegal/ Project Manager, you will play a key role in creating an integrated coordination of expert information for our client base. You will work as the liaison with associated attorneys, insurance experts and MC staff, managing caseloads through the full life cycle.
You should have at least 3 years’ recent paralegal litigation experience. A background in construction defect litigation is highly desired. Must have strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work as a team. Must be proficient in MS Word; Excel skills a plus.
